When I talk about traditional rifleman positions, I’m referring to those that have been taught and practiced for generations. These positions are relatively well understood, and their execution is largely consistent. However, I have found that there are some allowances for variation due to differing body types. Additionally, many generations of shooters from different disciplines (hunting, competition, military) have written about little techniques that change how each position performs. I will cover these as much as I can when I practice them.
