Current Marksmanship Goals

These are my 2015 shooting goals. They will evolve over time I need to set smaller intermediate goals, or as I meet or exceed the established goals. Completed goals are listed at the bottom.

I have removed goals for the previous year for the sake of keeping things clean.

  1. I think some of these goals are a big stretch at this point in your training. Unless you are using match ammo and match barrels ( which a CHF barrel is a handicap despite what you may hear otherwise) A good practical application standard for starting is to be able to keep your shots in the size of a mans chest at any range to 500 yards to start with. your gear and ammo, along with field conditions at this point make what you are trying to do very, very difficult

    1. Thanks, Shawn. Its funny that you posted this, as I was already starting to think the same thing. I’m not starting from zero, as I’ve been able to keep shots on a chest sized steel plate out to 600 yards before, but that was on a nice day laying behind the rifle on a bipod. I’m not sure I could do that unsupported, though.

      I will reevaluate these goals
